I was up early (relatively) for another ride. It was another beautiful day, but to paraphrase Maverick in Top Gun, you never leave your wingwoman, and I couldn’t help but think I was leaving mine. But hey, I got over it and had a great ride.
Next we set off for the Astoria farmers market. Our big score was a piece of banana cream pie. Those who know me well know I’m not a sweet tooth, but I have a weak spot for this particular pie. It was one of the fave things my mama made, and reminds me very much of her. Kari, being the kind soul she is, was trying to score without me knowing, but, she ain’t very quick in that boot…
Next we headed to Bridgewater Bistro https://bridgewaterbistro.com/ for lunch. Kari’s been getting restaurant tips from an Oregon list on eater.com, and this was the latest in a series of great recommendations. This joint was perched on the harbor and the food was fantastic. Bloody Mary’s, then Shrimp Louie with house-smoked salmon for me and salmon BLT & fries for Kari.
Next it was time for a few hours on the beach. As with all the state-owned beaches we’ve explored, it stretched on forever with few fellow humans on it. Tonight we were entertained by a couple kick ass wind surfers, these guys were amazing.
I could even drive onto this beach to rescue my damsel in distress:)
Then we headed back to camp for a few vittles and a real fire (not our gas cheater). We’re a little melancholy knowing our time on the coast is about over.
Another successful day. Though, can anyone identify anything different from the earlier version of this picture?

Geeze Kari! how's it doing? Site seeing and hiking must be tough! You need to install a seat on the back of Karl's bike 🥴
